TOKYO, October 06, 2020 – Ricoh Company, Ltd. has announced its endorsement of the “Business Ambition for 1.5°C” campaign. This campaign is led by the United Nations Global Compact, We Mean Business coalition*1, and the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) *2, which aims to reduce global temperature increases due to global warming to less than 1.5°C from pre-industrial levels and to achieve virtually zero GHG emissions by 2050. This new target, which has been approved by SBTi, will help limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.
Climate change is one of the most pressing social issue facing our global society. Ricoh has committed to become carbon neutral by 2050 and will continue to promote the realization of a zero-carbon society thorough energy conservation activities, the use of renewable energy and its active participation in international initiatives.
